As a teenager, Jonna attended an auction with her grandfather and suddenly realized that you could "buy low and sell high". She had a revelation...an epiphany. The realization of the American Dream and the idea of free enterprise. This is where the original idea for JD Lauren Custom Jewelers was born.

After graduating from Cambridge Academy (Ocala, FL), where she earned a 4.0 GPA, Jonna took a job working in the jewelry shop of a good friend, where she began to learn the business of buying and selling estate jewelry, as well as raw gold, silver and gemstones. All the while her idea for JD Lauren Custom Jewelers was developing.


Johanna Murray ("Jonna" to her friends) is a Florida native, having been born in St. Petersburg, on Florida's Gulf Coast. From her earliest days, Jonna's family, especially her grandfather, was involved in breeding, raising, training and racing horses. When she was 13, she began spending summers at her grandfather's ranch in southern Ohio, exercising the horses and hanging out at the track with other trainers and jockeys.
